MEET JO.

Jo Doll has lived in the 83rd District for nearly twenty years. She’s raised her boys here, served on the school board, and now she’s running to serve in the state legislature.

Jo’s in this race to stand up for quality healthcare, and to fight for the 90,000 children in Missouri who have lost their coverage in recent years. For Jo, this fight is personal. A physical therapist of over 25 years, she meets families every day who can’t afford the rising cost of coverage in Missouri. She’s going to Jeff City to hold Republican politicians accountable for refusing to do anything to end the healthcare crisis in our state.

Jo’s in this race to stand up for public education, having served on the Webster Groves School Board since 2017. She knows what kinds of opportunities a quality public education can provide for a child, and she wants to help build a future where every child in our state can receive those opportunities, regardless of their zip code.

Jo’s in this race to be an advocate for social justice. That means working to dismantle the systemic racism in a state where Black women have nearly three times the maternal mortality rate of white women. It means fighting for reproductive freedom, and letting a woman’s healthcare decisions be between her and her doctor.

Jo’s in this race to help build a better future for working families. That means that one job should be enough for every Missourian, and unions should be able to flourish.

More than anything, Jo’s in this race to bring fresh leadership to Jeff City, to be a leader that won’t shy away from tough decisions, especially in moments of crisis like the one we find ourselves in today. So whether it's healthcare, education, racial equity, or COVID-19, Jo promises to be a leader that always puts people first, no matter the political cost.

Jo’s values are also reflected in her role as an active community volunteer. She’s a member of Moms Demand Action, a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for common sense gun safety. Jo also volunteers for Welcome Neighbor STL, a community group supporting immigrants and refugees as they begin a new life in St. Louis, and is a proud member of the Jefferson Township Democratic Club, as well as the National Women’s Political Caucus of Metro St. Louis. Jo lives in Webster Groves with her husband, Jim, a physiatrist.
